Jewish Family Service of San Antonio (JFS) strives to enhance the quality of life of individuals and families of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds in San Antonio and the surrounding area, through social, psychological, health and educational programs guided by the Jewish values of “repairing the world” and “taking responsibility for each other”.

Additionally, JFS seeks to remove the financial barriers to mental health and social services in our community.

Victoria Fine

CLINICIAN

Victoria Fine is a supervised by Christy Stone, LPC-S, NCC. She obtained her Master's of Science in Clinical Counselor from the University of North Texas. Victoria enjoys working with people across the lifespan and providing a space for clients to be their most authentic selves. Victoria is personable in her approach to meet client's where they are at in their life.

Amanda Fite

Interim Chief Operating Officer

Amanda Fite has 15 year’s experience in family and community programming. Amanda and her husband, Cory share their home with their three dogs, Jake, Lucky and Mudge. She also never misses a New Kids on the Block concert when they come to town!

Alejandra (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Alejandra is passionate about helping individuals, couples and families achieve the change and growth they desire within themselves and their relationships. On her downtime, Alejandra enjoys going to concerts, reading, different arts and crafts projects and spending time with loved ones and her dogs.

Bethany Calderon

Intake Coordinator

Bethany (they/them/theirs) is a down-to-earth individual with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, who is passionate about accessible and diverse mental health care. They are currently on a journey of returning to school to become a future LPC, that supports the young queer community. Outside of work they love being active, whether by playing soccer or lifting weights. They cherish a balanced life of visiting local coffee shops, diving into books, writing poetry, and spending time with their partner and two dogs - Matcha and Sweet Pea.

Cynthia Ann Aguilar

Supervised by Jennifer J. Alamia, LPC, LPC-S, As a licensed associate counselor, I am dedicated to fostering healing and promoting overall well-being through compassionate therapy. I employ an integrative approach to counseling, ensuring that each client receives personalized care tailored to their unique needs and circumstances. My goal is to empower individuals on their path to emotional health and resilience.

Carmen Calatayud

Clinician

Carmen's desire to become a counselor came after her father's death and a life-changing hospice experience. Since then, providing hope and healing opportunities for trauma, grief and mental health have been her passion. When she's not at JFS, Carmen is a poet and writer who enjoys being active in San Antonio's rich arts community.

Patricia “Trish” Reichert

Trish has practiced as a LPC since 1996, primarily in the lane of trauma care. A painter with a history of adventure sports, Trish believes in the power of creativity and courageous vulnerability for altering moods and healing wounds. Adversity can serve as seeds for strength, adaptive skills, resilience, and personal growth.

David is a San Antonio native with over 25 years of serving the SA community in a leadership role. His kids take up most of his free time, as they are heavily involved with HS activities.

Supervised by Ryan Curran, MA, LPC-S  Clinician. My name is Erica Divine, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate at JFS. When I am not in the office you are likely to find me running my daughter to all her activities, sipping on iced coffee, and hanging out with family and friends. Fun fact about me, I moved to Texas from California when I was 23. I love Texas, but I miss California beaches and comfortable weather.

Jennifer Nuno

Supervised by Christopher Leeth, Ph.D., LPC-S Jennifer is a clinician at JFS and part of the school-base team of counselors partnered with CIS-SA offering counseling services through the SEEDS program at NISD. Jennifer has experience with adolescents, adults, and group work. Areas of interest include relational trauma, family and relationship issues, substance abuse, first-gen concerns, and developing social-emotional skills.

Kat Phillips

Case Manager

Kat has a passion for helping people and believes that kindness is contagious. With an empathetic approach, she hopes to help her clients develop the skills they need to overcome challenges and reach their goals. Outside of work, you can find Kat hiking in nature, practicing yoga, writing poetry, playing music and spending time with her two little dogs.

Monica Berlanga

Office Manager

Monica’s passion is advocating and spreading mental health awareness. She also enjoys sharing her artwork with the community, which she feels allows a safe space for conversation, understanding, and commonality.

Roberta Varela-Hein

Clinician

Roberta will use a variety of methods to help you reach your goals. This includes grounding techniques, CBT, holistic approaches and breathe work. She emphasizes a mind and body connection. Roberta facilitates a Yoga group at our Mission Road office.

Ruth Ann Lewis

Credentialing Specialist

Ruth is ensures that providers are contracted with health insurances in order to obtain payment for insurance billing purposes. When she is not at JFS, Ruth enjoys art, books, gardening and spending quality time with family.

Kevin Powell

Director of Development

Kevin Powell is an accomplished business leader with over 20 years of sales management and entrepreneurial success. Kevin is focused upon building relationships and securing the resources necessary to support our amazing clinicians and the future of Jewish Family Service San Antonio. In his free time, he enjoys being beaten by his wife at golf, and traveling with his family.
