Let’s Talk Community Series presents
“Well, my kid is resilient, right?” | Conversations and Mental Health Resources for Today’s Parent
Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019 | 6-8:30pm | Free and Open to the Community.

We’re empowering parents to talk about the hard stuff. Join us to learn about the signs, stages, and resources for common mental health & behavioral health issues. And more importantly, learn how to talk to your kids about them.

The evening will begin with opening remarks from San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg on the importance of tackling these difficult conversations with our kids and how our city is currently impacted by mental health challenges. A moderated panel discussion will follow featuring leaders in the mental health community. To round out the evening, parents will be encouraged to rotate amongst participating agencies to ask questions and gather a toolbox of resources to aide in their own conversations at home.

Topics for the evening include addiction, body image challenges and eating disorders, bullying, facing and recovering from trauma, suicide prevention, the warning signs, coping skills, and more.

Additional Agencies: Alamo Heights ISD, Children’s Bereavement Center, Clarity Child Guidance Center, Eating Recovery Center, NAMI San Antonio, Michelli Ramon, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
